The Box Detox is a guided breathwork meditation utilizing the “Box Breathing” technique. It is called “Box Breathing” due to the equilateral aspects of the dynamic. In other words, both the inhalations, breath holds and exhalations all are equal.
In this particular breathwork meditation, the Box Breath will follow a 4-4-4-4 pattern, meaning;
4- Seconds Inhale
4- Seconds Breath Hold
4- Seconds Exhale
4- Seconds Breath Hold
This pattern is repeated for 30-mins which will activate your Parasympathetic nervous system or your “rest/digest” mode of engagement. You’ll begin to feel a calmness fall over you, and it is recommended that if you are in any sort of conflict or problem, to simply exhale any and all thoughts concerning those issues.
This activity is meant to allow you to unburden yourself from the conflict for a short period of time in order to allow the unconscious mind the freedom to come up with more resourceful solutions.
