The Journey of the Pulmonaut is Never Ending...

Pulmonautika is a method of Personal and Spiritual Development and Exploration. It incorporates a myriad of techniques, concepts, and core principles that enables an individual to become aware of their automated internal scripts that produce and sustain their current life dynamic. 

This section is dedicated to help someone who is new to concepts of meditation, breathwork and personal development and aims to provide a solid foundation of knowledge to assist the individual on their personal journey. To help create a sense of familiarity and to demystify the lore of breathwork, meditation and psycho-spiritual development. 

This section will continue to grow as needed and as requested by the community.

Pulmonautika is a method of Psycho-Spiritual Development utilizing the breath as the principle vehicle for transformation. 

Pulmonautika is derived from the word “psychonaut” which roughly translates “soul traveler” and relates to the practice of exploring altered (holotropic/transpersonal, etc) states  of consciousness by means of meditation or utilizing  psychedelic substances and technology.  The other part of Pulmonautika comes from the Latin word Pulmo, which translates to lung.

The practice of Pulmonautika utilizes a wide array of breathwork techniques, meditation practices, NLP, hypnosis, and can synergize with  any type of practice or philosophy you may  currently be engaged with or find particularly beneficial to your personal development. 

A Pulmonaut is a practitioner of Pulmonautika and incorporates its practices and principles into their lives. While there are no particular “rules” to being a Pulmonaut – true practitioners internalize principles of continual growth within the numerous spheres of their lives, seeking balance and harmony by exercising self love, discipline, curiosity, and a fundamental understanding that each life is a unique occurrence in time and space. 

Additionally, Pulmonauts recognize that the vast majority of our internal and external processes are automated meaning that the “conscious awareness” we do posses is one of our most precious resources and must be treated with reverence. 

Simply put – A Pulmonaut is someone who is ready to look beyond the veil and with a smile and a loving heart- make peace with the darkness and live in the light. 

Breathwork is the practice of utilizing numerous “breath control” techniques. Different frequency, volume, and intensity of active breathing induces a wide array of physiological and psycho-spiritual states. Breathwork aims to induce specific states at will. 

Technically speaking Pulmonautika utilizes “Somatic Meditation Techniques” in that your entire being, from your physical body via the breath to your mind and beyond. However, all forms of meditation is encouraged; mindfulness, transcendental, candle, visualizations, etc. 

The very first step in every Pulmonauts journey starts with Breath Awareness. The simple mindfulness practice of observing the breath without any control –  with the intention become aware of the Universal Automation. Once Breath Awareness becomes  habit – the Pulmonaut gains valuable insight over their internal automation. 

You can start by simply closing your eyes and watching your breath, following the air go in and out of your body. Whenever your mind wanders, gently bring your awareness back to the breath. 

Start with five minutes and increase time as you see fit.
